Southerndown Surf School Surf Lessons
Students meet us on the beach where they are supplied with quality wetsuits and surfboards suitable for the conditions. After a brief introduction and explanation of the lesson (where, when, what), it's straight into the wet suits and down to the water's edge. Full instruction is given on the beach where students get used to their boards, are given safety tips and practice their techniques on the sand before riding the waves. Lessons last 21⁄2 hours. We ensure you spend as much time surfing as possible. Our instructors have over 25 years surfing experience and are fully qualified British Surf Association (BSA) Surf Instructors and qualified beach lifeguards (National Rescue Standard), are local to the area and are familiar with prevailing tides, surf and weather conditions.. Instructors are also experienced in teaching children to surf safely and are able to mentor children and young people through the BSA Young Athlete Junior Award Scheme to progress skills. Our instructors have an enhanced level of vetting checked through the Criminal Record Bureau Enhanced Disclosure (CRB) and have under taken Safegaurding children training. A range of half day, full day, weekend, one to one or school group/kids’ clubs tuition can be provided. We also offer 'Progressive' surf lessons, where we help you improve your techniques, skills, wave selection etc... which can quickly advance your surfing to the next level.
